The tug-o-war between maintaining and losing self control.
Preferred name "Sam", she is the second long-term character I have developed. Always a little older than I am, Sam is a strong no-bullshit woman with a head of steel and a heart of gold. A combination of the strength I aspire to have and burdened by my burden of inner turmoil, Sam can be very hot of blood and short of temper. With a history of bad homelife, poor relationships and a fondness of dogs, Sam has a hard time keeping friends but is typically accompanied by a canine compatriot! Often one with as testy a temper as her own.
Sam is typically drawn in bleach-blue, donning a hoodie and often smoking. Sometimes depicted with a dog. I draw her in blue with cross eyes as an homage to her original design of being albino and blind. This, of course, being some "quirky" character traits I selected in my silly little youth, not understanding the weight of my choices at the time. Particularly the lack of impact and the poor position I place myself in narratively. Sam recently underwent a massive backstory rework now that I have more writing experience, but I am tragically locked into writing her with most of the oldschool story in my group writing sessions. Ideally in a "book" or "solo" setting I wish to give Sam a motif of appearing almost chameleon like in her palate changing to fit the environment. But we'll see how that goes!
